Lung Cancer By: Peter Mann
I think you would be hard pushed to find a single smoker anywhere that wasn't aware of the dangers of smoking.Even if you wanted to get away from it you couldn't because the media won't let you.If after all the effort these media services have put into the message you are still smoking then you're not likely to stop are you?More importantly, you shouldn't think that just because you are under 65 and no-one in your family has suffered from it that you won't.It can apply to anyone who lights up regularly; one measly cigarette will taint your lungs for a full month. If one cigarette can do that, just think how much harm a pack of 20 will do to you.So, if you still haven't made your mind up you really need to start doing some research and the internet is full of articles on lung cancer.
There is no excuse not to keep informed nowadays especially with all the resources there are to help you.I couldn't live with myself knowing that I could have prevented an unnecessary condition just by having a check-up.There are some medical conditions that once highlighted the individual will take appropriate action but this isn't generally the case with smoking. That attitude of ‘it won't happen to me' may be the case with the majority of smokers but sometimes when they get a real scare, that makes them quit!Often though by the time that the medical problem makes itself know, all the damage has been done and it's too late.
I saw something once though that stopped me in my tracks; a person smoking a cigarette through a hole in their throat. The term ‘cancer stick' really does mean something when you get to situation where smoking is literally destroying your body and you still can't stop. There has always been evidence that smoking can cause serious respiratory problems but now all that knowledge and research is available to anyone who is interested. There is a plethora of research and articles on lung cancer to refer to nowadays, all of which go into detail about the conditions that are either caused by smoking or those made far worse. It's not just smokers who are affected either because those of us that don't would like to work or have a meal etc. without having to breath in other peoples smoke. The case for this is now so strong, more and more countries and places are making smoking illegal in specific areas so isn't it time you wised up?
