Natural Weight Loss By: Gregor Prajs
Natural weight loss is a big subject today for many people who do not understand the principle of eating only the amount they need for the amount physical activity required. You would think that would immediately put all those specialist diet companies and the whole industry out of business but that is not the case as over a third of Americans are overweight. Of course, once we are overweight, we usually want to trim down for a whole lot of reasons, some related to health, others having to do with looks.
The truth is it is easier to maintain your weight than it is to lose excess pounds and the heavier you become the harder the weight loss becomes. Subconsciously we all know that if we do not maintain a healthy food program for ourselves, we will start to add extra pounds.
Studies have shown that it is more likely a person who has lost weight using a calorie controlled diet, even if they actually enjoyed it, are more likely to go back to their old eating habits at some point. But despite the momentum toward weight gain, you can stop it from happening, experts say; and there are plenty of good reasons to avoid excess pounds that go beyond vanity or social acceptance.
The problem is that despite what is said, weight gain puts a strain on your body's ability to fight illness and disease and many of today's health issues are primarily affecting the overweight person. The nuts and bolts of eating right maintaining a healthy weight is not all that complicated; in fact, it is a good bet that most people know pretty well what is best and that is losing weight the natural way.
If the correct food groups in the right proportions are adhere to, there isn't a problem and a typical meal example means sticking to low fat meals that are high in fiber and contain complex carbohydrates and a moderate amount of protein. A meal containing this group would be something like a baked potato, vegetables and some meat, lean of course but would not have gravy, sour cream or cooking oil involved.
Unfortunately, dietary fat contains higher amounts of calories than ordinary food which when consumed will just be converted to body fat more readily. Despite the number of either, low fat foods and zero fat foods on the ever expanding market, it may at first seem surprising that the American people continue to put on weight but there is a very good reason for this.
Whilst completely false, the perception is that you can basically eat exactly what you want provided it is fat-free but there are still calories in the food and can easily be converted to body fat if not used. Natural weight loss methods ensure you avoid the fat-free products but put you onto eating healthy and nutritious snacks if you are hungry.
Some health care specialists believe that a natural weight loss method is to eat smaller meals and healthy, nutritious snacks every 3 or 4 hours, but avoid missing meals because regular eating can get you into good habits. Natural weight loss and maintenance is a lifestyle, something we all did rather successfully many years ago, but it is not a craze that can be forgotten about when the next one comes along.
