Avoid the wedding season. The most popular wedding months are May through October. Therefore vendors charge more during these months because their products and services are in demand. Plan your wedding for November through April and you'll save a bundle. The cheapest month of all? January. And an added bonus is that you'll have an easier time getting your first choice venue or that floral designer you're dying to use.

The key to a budget conscious wedding is learning where you can cut costs without sacrificing style. Most brides actually find that their weddings are more unique and better represent who they and their "husbands to be" are when they stick to a strict budget. Instead of simply choosing the most expensive options they spend time carefully selecting the elements that will make their day one of a kind.
