Menstrual Cramp Explained By: Stuart Smith
Most women suffer pain in their lives and sometimes it may feel as if they are being punished for being female. If it is not the night sweats it is the mood swings and not to mention menstrual cramps. For women who unfortunately have endometriosis (around 10 percent of women do) or even PCOS then the situation just gets worse. Each woman experiences the pains differently with some hardly able to do anything during this period.
The problem is getting a menstrual cramp relief remedy that you can guarantee will work every month. Pain relief pills seem to be the most prescribed option amongst women. Drug manufacturers were quick to formulate a remedy which most people know as Pamprin. Although many women prefer not to take any form of medication, this does you no credit if you cannot do anything for days each month.
Why waste days of your life in pain when there is no need; think about all those things that you are stopped form doing. What's worse is that you may have more than just the cramps to contend with, you may experience a bloated feeling and nausea too. After some time of enduring these pains I realized that I was only hurting myself and looked into other menstrual cramp relief remedies. Sometimes it is ok, but at other times I truly feel like someone has squeezed my midsection with a large vice, and I just can't get free.
Sometimes, my relief comes in the form of a heating pad which I normally use on my stomach, and other times it works best when placed on my back. You may not have tried this for your problem before but it is well worth giving it a go particularly if you haven't had any success with pills. Whilst these ideas may be ok for some women, others that have regular painful menstrual cramps each month may need to do something more permanent. Where this is causing a problem with attending work each cycle, you may forced into finding something to help before you find yourself seeking other employment
To stop the situation worsening you should speak to your physician to see what menstrual cramp relief solution he can come up with. Many women find that the birth control pill is an answer and the doctor may even suggest this remedy if they know you are not currently taking it. Just remember to talk about your health matters with your doctor to see if it is safe for you to be on the Pill, and remember, this isn't an option if you are trying to get pregnant and in that case, you may just have to grin and bear your discomfort. You will eventually find a remedy that works for you; it is just a matter of time.
