How To Make A Greeting Card By: Louis Gamache
Making your own greeting cards can be both fun and rewarding. Just imagine the faces of the person receiving it, when he or she discover the beautiful card which you made yourself, just for him or her! The first step in the making of these cards is to find out the interest of the recipient. Or are you creating something for your significant other?
What would be your chosen greeting card theme: funny, serious love or friendship? If you want a funny card, you will want cut outs of cartoons, or you might want to draw your own cartoons. A sentimental theme would need a little bit more work with perhaps some dried flowers or some sparkling stones. If you can draw your own graphics, that's even better but of course not everyone is an artist!
Obviously you need to establish the purpose of sending the greeting card. It could be for so many reasons like a special occasion or anniversary for instance? For instance, if it is a birthday, a picture of a cake is usually acceptable! However, if it is to commemorate Independence Day then a picture of the American flag would be nice.
Next comes the fun part-writing the copy for the greeting card. Use poetry for your words, they are a cool way to include some great literary work without having to write one your own. When you use other people's work, now the item becomes a non commercial item that you only use personally to send to friends and family members. It is okay if the card is used for personal purposes and not for financial gain.
Now that you know what you will put on the greeting card, who it is for, and why you are sending it, the next step is to gather all the materials you will need to create it. Start by gathering all materials needed such as dried flower or rhinestone and cartoon sketches you will require. Adding lace and ribbons would be great to make the card unique and special.
The most important thing to remember when creating your own greeting card is the sky is the limit! Let all your creative energy flow and your imagination to run wild. Let your imagination lead the way and create a card that is bound to amaze your loved one. Your loved now will appreciate the greeting card, appreciating just how much hard work and time you have taken.
