We need to work backwards initially and before we talk of promoting and driving traffic to your website, we need to look at the site itself. We all know, more and more in the eyes of the big Google, that content is king and is the key to your website. It doesn't matter to the search engines how pretty your site is and how brilliant your photograph collection is, but of course it does to your visitors. It is all about striking the right balance.

You will need plenty of keyword rich content and must be regularly updating it, to keep the search engines happy. It must be relevant and fresh. Always try to write the content yourself, that way you know the content is original. There is the for ever ongoing debate about original content, and how much it matters. I look at it like this. You hear over and over again from successful Internet marketers that "the money is in the list". The reason being, once you have captured that visitors details you can simply email them and get them to return to your site whenever you like. It's true, we all know about it being ten times cheaper to service and existing customer than finding a new one. Now I believe it is also a heck of a lot easier to convince a customer to return to your site if they know, that the only place in the whole of the Internet to see your content, is on your site and your site alone!

I could write a list here as long as your arm of the different methods for driving free traffic to your website. I am not going to, as I would be doing you my reader a great disservice. I am going to tell you the most effective way there is and the best site, beyond any doubt to use, to enable you to get tons of traffic.

The method is article marketing and the site is EzineArticles. It really is a no brain-er. Yes it takes a little work, but you can go at your own pace. You only need to know one thing, the more articles you submit the more traffic you will get. This is fact, it works. If you return to this article every now and again you will see at the foot of the page how many times it's been read. Of course you can do that for any article not just this one. Just write good helpful articles and over time you will get more and more faithful readers. In turn more visitors to your website, which is what we all want.
