Wedding Bell Traditions By: Suta Chabok
Usually Church bells ringing on Saturdays and sometimes Sundays is the signal for everyone local to acknowledge that a man and a woman have finally tied the knot in a wedding ceremony. Even in this modern day it is a special service that everyone involved remembers, expecting it to be something that they will only ever do once in their life.
The traditions we expect at weddings include a large cake which everyone must take a picture of when the couple cut into it and of course the champagne to toast the couple plus the happy group attending the wedding.
There are many things to appreciate on the wedding day itself. The exchange of rings between the newly wed couple is a sign that they have become one and forsake all others. All these things must be thoughts in your mind if you are close to your wedding and it wouldn't be the same without the little traditions we have all grown up with. If you were to place it in any order, it would be the pre-wedding parties, the ceremony itself and of course the honeymoon.
The groom of course would probably prefer not to have a bachelor party as he isn't quite sure what his buddies have cooked up for him as the evenings entertainment. Yes, the bachelor party is a king amongst wedding traditions and although it may not be a literal aspect of the wedding, but it sure is a blast nonetheless. I have been to a few bachelor parties, my brothers and a good buddy of mine but they were quite some time ago so I don't know all the tricks that they get up to nowadays. Most often these bachelor parties are just plain good fun revolving around a bar, drink, lots of guys and a few dancers but during recent years more young men are having a week away with the guys as their bachelor party. Men know that once they are married, going out with their buddies like this will probably be a thing of the past so this is their last chance to have some fun, but hopefully not wit the female dancers. At one time it was the guys who dominated the bachelor parties but the girls have started to catch up and it won't be long before they compete with the men for party antics.
For ninety nine point nine percent of married couples, the honeymoon is their most looked forward to aspect of the marriage. Finally after all the preparations, you will be alone for a couple of weeks with no-one to bother you and nothing to sort out but what you want to o each day. Obviously you can't spend the majority of the wedding budget on this but it would be fun for the couple if not for the wedding guests. It is probably the best holiday the couple will ever have so there is nothing wrong with them spending a little more on themselves and having some well earned fun. From my own experience it is well worth spending more time planning the honeymoon as it will go on for longer than the wedding.
