Never quit your 9 to 5 job before all your plans to start the new enterprise is in order including enough money saved up which would help in your day to day expenses till your home business takes off profitably. It would be great if you can rope in a partner during this interim phase that takes care of all your bills.

The usual business operations run at a loss in the first year and if lucky then it would take another couple of years to break even. The fortunate ones start making money in year three. It may be an arduous task to start a home business and may be even tougher than a regular employment, whether it is worth all the trouble would depend entirely on you.
